It seems to me that recently some of the people frequenting this forum has begun taking a more confrontational and aggresive approach in the discussions with a quite a few insults and offensive comments.
This forum is ment to be a place for civilized discussions and that means that we all have to behave like civilized individuals and also respect the fact that we have different opinions, there is no need to insult someone simply because they disagree with you.

The bottom line here is: If you can't accept the fact that some of the others here in the forums are bound to disagree with you at some point without resorting to insults and similar childish behaviour, don't bother coming here at all, because if you can't handle that why visit a discussion forum at all?

btw. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you all of the guidelines:
* Keep the message on topic
* No revisionism (ie. denying the Holocaust) or racism is tolerated
* No insults are tolerated
* Use of your real name is appreicated but not required

What is your problem?

I am not saying I agree with them, I'm merely defending their right to their misguided opinions & beliefs.

I'm looking through stuff there, & I really don't see anything that's very offensive. But even if I do find something offensive, my opinion still stands as I initially posted it.

I don't agree with it either, but in reading what they are saying they aren't really that bad compared to what else is out there.

and in any case i dont even see what is wrong with it, it is a discussion forum. Here is a sample post from a random post I looked at regarding a nazi leaders birthday:

For various reasons, the birthday of this man should be remembered, as the 7th of March saw the birth of the greatest and most evil criminal in mankind history.



Looks like he is talking about the guy in a negative manner. Where are all the posts that people should be in hell for?

Me thinks that this webmaster is fighting a losing battle at a forum of that nature. Unlikely that it's attracting the Disney crowd.

Viper is right. As repugnant as that garbage is, we cannot eliminate their rights without starting a downhill slide that might end up including more reasonable and intelligent forms of free speech. Best thing we can do is ignore the scumbags.

Back in the 80s, I interviewed a number of German veterans for a book that never got off the ground.... er word processor. Unfortunately, many of the old vets are now deceased.

But the stories they had to tell! Wow! Shared a glass or two (or in some cases 20) of Bier with the old vets and every one of them opened up with remarkable insight. Only Werner, a former FW-190 pilot was arrogant about the whole thing. That was, until he was planning to fly to Miami to visit his sister 😉 Then he opened up with some incredible, yet believable experiences.

All of the German vets from the Third Reich were proud, brave men fighting for their country. And every single one of them (about 125) admired the USA. Even the former officers.

To me, there is nothing wrong with that forum. Looks like a bunch of history buffs with a few on the fringe hanging out.

<edit>Let me rephrase "all the German vets" to "all the German vets I interviewed"</edit>
 
WTF? Is anyone even able to show a series of "bad" posts there? What exactly is bothering you? What comments? What threads?

From what I've read the board is full of some very bright and articulate people who know their history. There are some good reads there.

who in h3ll would host a forum dedicated to discussing the ways and details of how the biggest genocide was commited(or was milosevic worse?). To even consider calling it a third reich board bothers the h3ll out of me. I mean, if you read though a little more, they admire these master killers and devilish generals.

Ah, the beauty of the Internet. Whatever you can think of, you'll find it on there. That's why I love it with all it strengths and weaknesses, just like a girlfriend 🙂
 
Actually, as I'm poking through some of the threads there, I'm getting the impression that most of these guys are just military history buffs who are focused on, well... The Thrid Right. If you find something different, link it, I'm sure it's in there somewhere, but this doesn't look like a neo-Nazi board to me.

EDIT: Looks like the rest of you actually took the time to read some stuff too.
 
I've been browsing the forum for a few minutes now and have found nothing offensive.. it just seems like a group of people who are interested in the Third Reich and WWII.. I must admitt that I, too, find both topics very interesting. Does that make me a bad person? Many of the posts just seem to be people with interesting ideas, or who just wanna know how things happened, or need help with a project.. shrug.. Regardless I agree with Viper. To each their own, it's not my job to judge right and wrong.

I would ask you to provide links but you dont appear willing to do so. However, you would rather the world simply brush it off? Forget about it? Dont talk about the europes "dirty little secret"?

To admire is not to glorify. One can admire even the most evil, in a military and social sense, without approving or agreeing with their ideals and concepts.
 
gogeeta, I hope you are on the losing side of the next war. That way we won't have to hear your intolerance grinding away. What fvcking exactly is it that offends you? Why not raid the closest school and burn all the history textbooks, and for that matter, kill the history teachers too?

Heh, I'm surprised everybody has jumped to the defense of free speech. WTG everybody who likes free speech! (I say this in jest, but this sort of stuff is always under attack. Wasn't but a couple years ago that there was some sort of movement to kill Dilbert because of how the cartoon showed the average work environment).

Yeh I agree with everybody; I don't care what they're saying. They have a right to say it.
