If there was proof of evolution...

So here's a hypothetical situation: Let's say god came down, and was driving a hybrid Prius or something (since OBVIOUSLY god hates "global warming"). And let's say he was like "Evolution is true, my children! You are all evolved from monkeys! Also, there used to be these huuuuuge freakin' lizards that roamed the earth and ate people at amusement parks on remote islands in South America. And lastly, it turns out Jimmy Hoffa shot JFK."

Would you believe it? Or would you say it was just another left-wing conspiracy, like the war in Iraq or the popularity of the Dixie Chicks?

Just wondering how many of you really love America, and how many of you are French.

It would never be put on by the liberal driveby media (and you damn no they would prevent it from being reported anywhere else) so noboby would ever know it happened.

Well, it does say that God created Adam, not some pile of goo that over billions of years became a single celled organism, then some kind of amphibian, then a monkey, then Davy Jones (Monkee?), then Adam.

Aha!

I was waiting for someone to say something like that.

Lemme guess...you're listening to a Micheal Jackson album right now, aren't you? See, this is what I don't get; even in the face of evidence, people STILL believe what they want to believe. Take the war in Iraq...people are all slamming it and stuff, but hey, you wanna make an omelette, you gotta crack some eggs. Obviously, in this case, people who are trying to take our freedom -- ooooh, I wonder if they're MONKEYS -- have to be stopped or next it'll be your children. Which is stupid, since half this country is illegal immigrants anyways.

Sometimes I think everyone should just move to Canada, because I love this country.

But it does say He created Adam from dust, which has some evolutionary overtones.

I entered this thread planning to make an open-minded reply, but given the OP, I really have no reason to.

I know!

You and me both, brother. I can't walk 10 feet in this country without listening to some blowhard, hippie, tree-hugging "no" it all on Fox News telling me how to think.

It makes me sick.

The colorful language that the bible uses does not clearly specify in what manner "Adam" was created. From the Earth, yes... but over how many millions of years? And don't give me that first day, second day crap. That is just a generic timeline to differentiate the various stages of development. Time does not exist.

Canada deserves you...

It was a book that was re-written by people repeatedly. It was originally written for some near bronze-age rock throwers.

I am sure there are lots of things that were left out or even changed.

Why? Why so angry? What effect do my [obviously enlightened] thoughts have on you?

Actually, the "enlightened" thoughts that you've managed to put forth in this thread so far sound more like the ramblings of a 14 year old who has created a troll thread. Everyone likes looking at a clown; as long as you keep amusing us, I say let you stay. But, you're walking a thin line between "amusing twit" and "trolling idiot."

This isn't exactly on thread topic here -- after all, we're talking about evolution -- but what difference does it make? How does either case effect you?

We can have a bit more discussion on the topic, but then I'd like to get back to the point of the OP. If need be we can start a thread for this other discussion.

Except, evolution doesn't say that we evolved from monkeys. My ex's bible-thumping mother even knew this.
