Serving my country? Yeah right...I just like the benefits. As soon as I have to start paying for them with my service, I'm so out of here

There will be plenty of room for cowards like you at Gitmo.

Happy Fun Sunshine Warrior for Freedom.
or maybe something as simple as no draft but only allowing people in the armed forces be called
Americans, thereby suggesting that all who dont get to be a part of it arnt real citizens.

AMEN!

BTW how long does it last? Do they toss your name out after you reach a certain age? I'll be 30 by April '05.

These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.

Indeed, they deserve our love and thanks for ridding the world of Saddam's WMDs and making the US safer from his imminent threats

Indeed, if the Patriots of yesteryear were alive now, they'd beat you over the head with your own arm.

And indeed, they'd have the right to beat me up because they fought for the freedom of our country. The bravery and lives of our current soldiers are being wasted on a much less noble cause.

Hey, many people didn't feel the American War for Indepence was noble. Many were content being ruled by the King of England. I guess history proves them wrong, eh?

I guess a few hundred years from now, we'll discover Saddam was actually occupying the United States and oppressing its people through a clone army of white politicians, proving GWB right.

The only noble thing the US military has done in Iraq is begin to rebuild the country they bombed to pieces. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing heroic, by any standard. This country hasn't produced military heroes in any notable quantity since the 1940s.

If you hate our troops and government so much, why don't you just leave? Oh wait, that's right, you're too busy leeching our social programs.

I don't use any social programs, but the quality of life here is great in my neck of the woods.

I view the revolutionary war, as two white guys fighting over who gets to exploit us natives, and this beautiful continent's resources. BTW do you guys pave EVERYTHING you come across, just asking. ;)

Let's call the draft: Since cloning is illegal, this is the next best thing program.

You sure about that, ace?

Gee, I believe you said in another thread...

I'll wait to run north until the draft is confirmed though. Either that or I'll join the university for a couple more years...on your money, no less. More schooling can't hurt...and it'll hurt a lot less than a roadside bomb.
