Some of those G31/G41 mobos on Ebay are actually appreciating in price especially those DDR2/3 combo boards.

Motherboards have good resale-value in general, unless you paid over $100 for it. They never seem to go below $20 shipped regardless of how old. Only CPU processors are the #1 enemy here for depreciation and you fight for it.

For all the people complaining about my habits, this is none of your business. I build whatever it's affordable, fast, cheap, good quality, quiet, and I don't lose sleep on depreciation.

As a third reminder again, I still stand by my statement on Pentium G3258 having its highest resale value percentage than all the LGA1150 processors out there. Who even uses a P4 in 2015 (and $40 for it?????)? Even an E8400 isn't suitable anymore with modern internet splatted across a dozen tabs and stuff running in Windows. Its just sluggish. In 5yrs an i3 will be as fast as a Haswell i7, who would buy a tired old Pentium then no matter the cost?

Many mATX and some ATX boards I shipped fit inside perfectly using USPS Priority Mail medium flat rate box for $12.55 fixed rate price.

They don't. You have no idea how that mobo was treated, if any of the controllers are still working or patchy or if the pins are straight or which postman where chucked it at a truck. H81 now is around $50/$60, H97 is around $90. H110/H170 will be similar. Why would I buy something second hand that has been thoroughly groped when I can get box fresh for that cheap, not counting rebates or sales? Never mind the lack of modern bits on really old boards. Even Z68 is creaking along now compared to Z97. Same with X79. The chipset is outdated compared to its replacement.

Same with a CPU. You buy one for $40 now and flip it for $40 (way less due to Ebay's fantastic fees), so what? PC parts don't hold any value at all. When I sell I'll be lucky to get 50% back. In 5yrs Intel will probably be hitting the wall under 10nm and someone will be buying a poky Pentium that is average at best right now?
