The card in question is a Radeon X700 PRO AGP. I have tested this card in 3 otherwise perfectly functional systems, and the card caused all 3 computers to hang in the middle of boot.
As I recall, the POST was checking the VRAM and then would just sit there, forever.
I'm pretty sure that that means that the VRAM is bad.
Should I just toss the card? What do people do with bad old graphics cards? Is there any way I could fix it? I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but some people here are very ingenious.
