If the social conservative base has such a low opinion of New York - why do they get so riled up about 9/11?

That's something I've been wondering for a while. If they don't like the "moral cesspit" that is New York City, why are they so quick to rally around the banner of 9/11?

I'll answer. Because we were attacked and many people died. And we don't like people that attack or hurt our country, at all. And many conservatives view New York in a good light because of all the money and industry that comes from it.

That's not what I meant to imply but I could see why you would think that and I apologize. I don't think anyone supports brutal annihilation.

I think my question was more pointed toward the "real" America and "not real" American argument back during the election. Do you remember? When the Republican campaign briefly tried that strategy? New York was certainly not part of their "real" America - so the juxtaposition of running on a "Remember 9/11!" "But only in real America!" platform seems like the ultimate hypocrisy to me.
