Do you really believe that? Maybe you forgot that OBL declared war on the US before Bush took office, maybe you forgot about the 1st WTC bombing in the early 90's, the USS Cole bombing, and embassy bombings, all of which took place before Bush was in office. ME hatred of the US has been around a lot longer than Bush.

He hasn't helped matters, but it's not all his fault.

You're conveniently forgetting the multiple terrorist attacks against the US prior to 9/11.

IIRC the terrorists were in place some time prior to his election.

you live in fear?

guess terrorism is a success in your book. it's a pity that any one fall for terroism, and be forced to live in fear. Regardless of who tyhe president is, your living in fear is your own problem. And bush did not cause this, bush was not there in lebanon, when the cole was attacked, or any of the other times terrorism has struck the US> we have just been foirtunate that were are isolated from the areas where terrorism is.

Next you'll say bush is responsible for the ira, the plo, bosnia, etc...

You forget that there are many of us from all over the world still fighting and supporting the fight for 9/11 while the US seems to have forgotten that fight, we have not.

Living here in Boston with it's history regarding 9/11 and the large Arab/Muslim population, terrorist attacks are on my mind more than I would like.

in order to pre-empt a nuclear attack by terrorists, we should evacuate new york, move them all to Maine or something, and nuke new york city ourselves. Lets show those terrorist bastards we can beat them at their own game.

What multiple attacks? I recall one in 1993. Or, are you referring to the attacks on US installations overseas which pretty much renders the 2nd half of your post moot.

How can anyone say they wouldn't give up any of the freedoms we have now if it meant we were going to be safer?

The first Patriot Act has already taken away some of your freedoms, should it ever be used against you in any way.

I'd imagine a larger attack than 9/11, such as a nuke, would trigger a much larger version of the Patriot Act to be enforced.

This would probably cause all Muslims to be rounded up and placed in internment camps and/or kicked out of the country.

Sacrificing freedoms does not bring security, unless one foolishly believes that to commit a harmful violent act is a freedom.

Otherwise, inmates in prison with virtually no freedoms still do not feel "safe".

I agree, if a nuke really did hit the US, the Middle East would be obliterated. The sad thing is before Bush took office, none of this scenarios was actually plausible in the minds of the American people. In my lifetime, even though I know this won't happen, I'd like to live in a world with peace on its mind, not war.
 The threat of a terrorist attack using some nuke-based weapon has been a plausible possibility for decades, not just the last 4 years. Take your FUD elsewhere.

Personally, I would not give up any of my current rights for that reason.

About 4 months ago I was listening to Micheal Savage and he was discussing what it would take for the US to round up all Muslims and put them into internment camps. I found his discussion on the topic rather interesting.

We could start some investigations on whether or not Mullah's in the US might be preaching hate and violence from their bully pulpits and kick those violent supporters out of the USA. It is still illegal to incite violence last time I checked. We could also expell all those persons in the USA from certain countries we no longer see eye to eye with if things got bad.

This is not so much a matter of hate, as it is a matter of self preservation.

At what point would America say enough is enough and just wipe out the middle east.

So if Kerry had won terrorism would no longer be an issue?
