If sportsball is so popular why isnt it pirated?

In fact, if you're watching it on TV I'm pretty sure its NOT live. Its delayed like one whole fucking minute. If that doesnt bother you why would watching a recording on your Tivo fucking bother you?

I follow a specific hockey team that's not local so I subscribe to nhl.tv for a cost. Any time I can't catch it live, I'm very tempted to skip ahead to the goals or live (if I missed the first half hour). Too much temptation and not watching live makes it a lot less enjoyable. But sitting through two 20-min intermissions suck too.

To answer your other question - the pirated streams were much too unreliable and I'd rather just pay the cost and not have to hunt on game-night.

All NFL games are available via torrent within a couple hours of finishing. NBA games, boxing matches, MMA, etc. Like anything else, they won't be found on all public torrent sites. The Pirate Bay has been good this year for NFL games, and pretty much all I use it for. You may find you need to use one of the many mirrors if the main site is down or being blocked.

Most major sporting events are pirated just not the way you are thinking they are. Like others have mentioned most people prefer to watch their sports live. Live streams are the biggest and most popular source of piracy for sporting events. DMCA take down requests are frequent but a new stream usually pops up within minutes.
