If Sonic the Hedgehog, Speedy Gonzales, & The Road Runner were in a foot race, who would win?

These are the 3 fastest cartoon characters that I can come up with who don't have any real "superpowers". Which one do you think would win in a marathon-length type race?

Sonic because not only can he run fast, he cna do flips and adapt to just about any terrain whereas the other two are almost always on simple roads.

hmmm a marathon though..yes I suppose speedy would, if it was an off road fastest to the finish it would be sonic.

Most likely Speedy would get trampled.

#4: spikes and lava, are these factors?
#5: is there anything that will need to be defeated?

Speedy would get destroyed. Both Sonic and RR are adept at avoiding dangerous road hazards, so I think that's a tossup.

Sonic is terrain oriented, and never so fast that you can't see him (at least not in the video games). Speedy could go so fast that you couldn't see him, but I never saw him go for long distances. He was more of a sprinter.

The road-runner OTOH, he was built for the open road, and nothing else. There is no competing with his top-end speed and endurance.
