What response do you give when they DO send a pic and they are ugly... or at least not-attractive to YOU?
I hate that... It's like "Nice pic". WTF are you supposed to say? I had a girl send me a pic the other day, and she wasn't terribly ugly, but I was not attracted to her at all. She asked if I wanted to meet sometime and I told her probably not. She said why, because I am ugly? I said No, I just don't think it would work out. She kept asking why for like 15 minutes, so I finally told her I wasn't attracted to her. I felt like such an ass... but WTF was I supposed to say?

I try not to rationalize human behavior on the interent to much because the aspect of anonymity makes it a rather incoherant thing.
That being said, perhaps the person enjoy's their anonymity, perhaps they're self conscious, perhaps they're already married/atteched and feel guilty intereacting in such a way, who knows... try not to dwell on it too much. Online persona's seem to minimally reflect a person's true nature anyways.

I know this guy used to talk to this online girl that she wanted him to send pic and call her on the phone, etc...But he didn't do it, because he has a gf and was about to get married, and he didnt want to have anything to do with her other than just chat online. She eventually stop talking to him.... Maybe your friend is like that too?
