If someone physically saved your life, how indebted to them would you be?

I help people all the time without feeling they owe be something in return. And if I saved someone's life I wouldn't think they owe me their life. In both cases I'd just hope (but not demand) that they would help someone else in turn -- I gather that was the concept of that "pay it forward" movie but I didn't bother to see it.

So if someone saved my life, I'd thank them and ask if they need help with anything, but I wouldn't feel a "life debt" to them, I'd just go on helping other people.
