...and said it was yours to do with as you pleased provided you performed 3 potentially deadly acts first and survived, would you take it?

This is stating that providing that you survive these 3 deadly trials, the $250 million is yours to do with as you wish. Only thing is you've got about a 1 in 50 chance of surviving all 3 events...alive.

Would you still do it?

The chances are 1 in 50 that you would survive all 3 of them, not each, but all 3.

 
depends who was offering the money, what the 3 things were, and whether or not the 3 things benefited any part of society.
 
You gotta think like management... i'd subcontract out the 3 deadly acts to someone else for $500,000 each.
