If someone at your working place does not call you by your proper title do you get upset?

As most of you know I work for an independant company that just rents space inside of K-Mart. I often hear over the intercom people paging for other people. Just now, this lady was trying to get a hold of someone but she said the letters like UPM or RPM or something along those lines wrong and didn't get it right. 1. The person will not answer if the page is not correct, 2. They get awfully upset just for making a minor error like that.

Do you get upset if someone does not call you by your proper title?

I work retail and hear this same kind of thing but it does not bother me. It does bother some people but not me.

My ***OFFICIAL*** title is "Business System Analyst. But most people just go "Yo! Computer guy!"

And no...it doesn't upset me.

If you're in a position that carries respect, then I can see it being a big deal, but for most people, no, not a big deal.

When I teach karate I am *supposed* to be called sensei. Doesn't mean I get all bent out of shape if someone calls me by my name. Oh the horror! Please. They seriously need to get over themselves.
