if sinks can have garbage disposals, why can't toilets?

inspired by Atty's humongous shit thread, i raise the question---why don't they make an in-line grinder for the crapper?
 
They do, usually for use in basements though where it has to get ground up and pumped out to a septic tank.

The reason why it's not that popular? Because it's a shitty job to clean them out when they get built up with toilet paper and feminine products. Plus you have to run electric to them which is another thing to worry about.

masticating toilet/pump is what OP is looking for. Like mentioned above mostly for basements, for example.

yup. i installed one in my basement. flushes up to the existing waste pipe thru a 1" pipe. cost around $750. i figured around the same price as breaking up the concrete, laying new pipe, pouring new concrete etc without the hassle, time and mess.
i highly recommend it.

This. Masserators? My dad had one in his downstairs bathroom. It mulched everything and then pumped it up about 10' to the main drain system.
 
I posted the solution in that other thread, just get a pressure toilet. They arn't expensive and are completely worth it.
 
Yeah.... but never build something you wouldn't be willing to clean. I'll stick with the plunger, thanks. At least I know whatever's clogging the toilet is mine.
