If Sadam IS captured, what should be done?

Good question. We could always blame him for 9/11 and take out our frustration out on him. Beat him to death with a foam bat (or whatever it is they use in selfhelp classes). He is after all the evil one. Anything to take away our attension from that Bin what's-his-name guy.

Would be nice if he were. I'm sure the kurds would love it if he where tried for War crimes. But I get the feeling he'll be hidden away in cuba or in some unknown location untill they can beat the truth into him (yeah, do mean "into him") so he can confess to having links to Al Qaeda and 9/11.
 
Let's see here, we invaded his country twice, held sanctions against his people for years, killed his kids, and even took over his bordello. He should be punished right away!

buckmasterson, as much as I was (still am) against *this* war in Iraq. The first one was justified. He attacked kuwait, and they had remove his ass from Kuwait. Also, no sane person would dispute the fact that he's a war criminal. Not even those who are against this war. But as you said. We're focusing our attension on the wrong person.
 
If this is really him, there is no way he should ever go on trial. He was elected leader of that country with a unanimous vote. Who the hell is the US to think we can capture a sovereign leader? There is ZERO proof at any credible site(such as the Guardian, Enquirer, Slate, Yellow-Times, etc) that says Saddam ever did anything remotely illegal or unethical. Bush is the real criminal here; he invaded a country and "freed" them from a harmless leader.

Furthermore, we should force him to pay his own health care costs, at current U.S. rates, while incarcerated. That'll teach his ass. 😛

Seriously though, he should definitely be tried.
 
I think a case in the Us would be rather difficult, saddam hasnt done anything against the US directly, putting him on trial in the hague is rather difficult since the US does not recognise that institute as being lawfull.

so i'd have to think the US-created court of war crimes in iraq itself will have to deal with him.

and yes going for a conviction for the deeds he did kuwait would be the easiest thing to proove and convict im for.

Ok, I'll buy the first war, but we should have spent the second war monies on finding the murderer of New York. Sadam is a Christmas from Jr. to Sr. and it turns my stomach to think they both are celebrating this while the Evil One remains free.

Only problem with an Iraq trial would be that he would be free in a year. He has the money...

Not entirely. The war will continue, and bin Laden is still in some cave somewhere. Mission is far from being accomplished. Sure, nice capture, but Mission will be Accomplished when our troops all come home safe and sound.
