Then should recovering sex addicts never have sex again?

(Inspired by Tiger Woods and his return to the Mississippi sex rehab clinic)

I think what people fail to realize is that addictions are caused by people who are looking for a mechanism to cope. If they feel like shit, they can use their "addiction" to cope with their problems so they can limit their "sorrows". I don't think tiger has an addiction, I think he's just a normal guy who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. It's his wife's fault for all of this, not him.. Yeah it's probably not a good idea to cheat but to create the media circus that it did, I think that's far worse.

Two things here, so you are saying Tiger doesn't have a "sex addiction" and so this rehab he is going to is a farce?

Also, are you actually blaming his wife for all of this????

Wow, you just fail at every single post you ever write, don't you?

Is that your addiction? Ridicule for being a stupid twat makes you cope?

Yeah, well, whatever makes you tick i guess.

I'm sure this would have to be handled on a case by case basis. The chemical complexities of the human brain don't really allow for one simple solution I would think.

Blaming this on Tiger's wife is moronic. It would have been a huge thing anyway, his image was based on his clean lifestyle and his actions ruined it. Being the biggest athlete going people are going to notice. I mean I'm pretty sure everyone saw how quickly it got out of hand with his "lovers" coming out of the woodwork.

At first, I thought maybe Tiger Woods was full of shit saying he's addicted to sex, then I see the women he has allegedly had affairs with. It might just make sense.

I really think it depends on the person and the addiction. Not all recovering alcoholics can never have a drink again for example.

Not everyone agrees with you on that.
I have always read/heard that alcoholism is a disease, and that people who are truly inflicted with it cannot safely drink alcohol again under any circumstances.

predictable. you, trolling my thread. shoo fly.

I didn't troll your thread, you have made the same remark a million times before and it's been done with great justice when you did it as well as when i did it now.

Look, i know you think i'm out to get you in every fucking response i write to anyone on the internet but i really don't even remember what your tiff with me is.

Nor do i give a fuck about it and i'll treat you just like all other nameless faceless posters that i don't have any clue about because i honestly don't know shit about you.

Is that clear honey buns?

Should've done this awhile ago, but you just now popped your busy body self into my thread. This is a hobby of yours. You post smack on here in just about every one of your responses. Too bad you've found our little board to haunt.

In case you don't know what ILed means, it means I will no longer respond to your insult riddled posts because I won't see them. Thank you vBulletin.

The alcohol is a disease thing isn't something that I don't believe has much scientific weight behind it. I believe that that's the view touted by AA and most of AA is BS. Not saying it can't help people recover, whatever works you is good! The thing is that most people who become emotional and physically addicted to alcohol are using it as a crutch to hide from other mental problems. These underlying problems are what need to be fixed. Now once those are some people can return to normal drinking others still can't. I don't believe it to be a black and white issue.

Yes I am blaming his wife... what kind of fucking idiot pulls that shit off? You don't chase your husband down and bash out his car with a golf club, that's assault/battery, vandalism, disturbing the peace, etc. and I'm surprised she hasn't been charged with anything. Stupid crazy bitch. It's completely inexcusable for her to act the way she did and if the roles were reversed, the point would still stand. Furthermore what she did caused irreparable damage to his family, his career and herself by making him look sleazy and her like a whackjob.

I don't think tiget has a "sex addiction". I think the reason he is doing this is because he wants the media to stfu. I hate to use this example but it's a wee bit similar to Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Olsen twins, etc. checking themselves into rehab facilities so get the media off their back since they're "addressing their issue". However, the difference in this case is that if it weren't for the mess his wife created, I'm pretty damn sure he wouldn't be checking himself into any rehab facility. His wife created this mess by acting like a lunatic. If Tiger had admitted to infidelity and she behaved how a person should behave, I'm pretty damn certain this wouldn't have mushroomed into what we now know it as.

Oh and please, don't attempt to excuse his wife's behavior in all of this.

It's not a disease any more than smoking is a disease or heroin addiction is a disease.

Some can control it and stay sober for when they need to be sober, some can not, that pretty much goes for EVERY drug including marijuana.

From what i have heard from all kinds of abusers of all kinds of drugs it comes down to one thing, they can't face what they did drunk sober, it doesn't matter what they were drunk on at the time, it's the same for all of them.

Some can do cocain on weekends even though they were addicted to it in the past, it has more to do with them changing the very setting of their life than anything else i think.

I'm curious, where did i insult you? You keep mentioning that but ...

If you are intent on ignoring me, cheerio. :)

You have to be the biggest retard ever. Were you born with a weak sperm was your dad jacking off and your mom sat on it at the last second? Tiger Woods is an adulterous man slut that couldn't keep his dick in his pants, and blaming his wife for it is the most ludicrous thing i've ever read ever more so than inflating tires to sidewall.

Considering the post he made, I can let the first statement go - about being the biggest retard ever. But the 2nd sentence definitely steps over the line in personal attack territory. -Admin DrPizza

A good friend of my wife's is married to an alcoholic. This guy drinks himself to oblivion everytime he touches the stuff. He is physically addicted to it to the point of having severe withdrawals and seizures because of his addiction. My wife's friend is practically on a first name basis with half the paramedics in the area and they know her house because they've been called out there so many times.

This guy really should never touch alcohol because he can't control his addiction or himself when he drinks.
