If rap artist are untalented then make up a rap verse right now! I'd say make one paragraph that pertains to your life in general or you could rap about politics or anything else that is worth rapping about. The verse has to be well constructed and it has to have meaning.

Though I don't "like" rap and all the derivatives, I woudln't say rappers have no talent. I just don't like the music that much. Now those pop-lip-synching-stars have no talent. But that's another thread.

Do you have any idea how insanely simple it is to run a drum machine? I do it myself in my own studio for backup tracks on test recordings.

Do you know how difficult it is to learn music theory inside and out? And then apply it to a musical instrument? I'd say it takes about 20 years to be fully adept and confident in an instrument. Yeah, you can be playing one in under a year. But that's different.
I'd say rap is comparable to todays mainstream radio music. At the most you usually hear only 2 progressions which consists of usually 3 chord ascending and descending the major scale in the most basic form you can call music.

Music isn't much of an art anymore. Just a tool to make money. How often to you hear a guitar player composing music in the same caliber as, lets say Mozart? Doesn't have to be classical either. But to get to the point, it just doesn't happen. And picking out a drum beat on a drum machine doesn't quite cut it.

just because something isn't easy doesn't mean there's talent associated with it. being a pop/rap are the two best examples, others include....lifting heavy objects, nailing your mom, putting your shoes on, and calling a taxi.
