I can image overloaded polling places, that could be a problem.

I've seen the winning side's fans riot after a sporting event, any possibility of something similar after an Obama victory?

Fern

Why wouldnt something similar happen if McCain were to win?

You mean celebratory rioting by McCain *fans* if he won?

(Won't happen - his winning that is) I think they'd be too much in shock to do anything so exerting. Celebratory rioting seems like something for younger people, and they are all fans of Obama. I've never seen middle age or older people riot in America.

Certainly not all...just many. It depends on where the young people are...

I dont understand your premise. Thats not possible. Registered voters show up with thier legal ID and vote, that is that.

If McCain wins by a valid election, No there wont be riots. Give some credit to America.

Rioting occurs when a sports team doesnt win a championship... and occassionally when it does. You think the first black candidate for president to make it to the general election losing WONT spawn violence? ESPECIALLY if it ends up being a 2004 situation (where the race was called early on for Kerry), or, God forbid, a 2000 situation? Please. I dont give people as a group that much credit. Sorry.

Obama's Cousin Odinga

This man and Obama's father are from the same community. They are not related :p
Odinga not Obama's relative

Did you read the article?

Yeah, because we hold people accountable for something their (alleged) cousin did.

I expect the crazed wingnuts to come down from their cabins in the woods and form militias again when McCain loses, probably even blow up another federal building or 2.

Doubt it. I heard Ayers will be too busy celebrating.

Sounds like a great reason to fake a poll eh? Create such an expectation that the loser will demand victory no matter what.

Personally I think that we have two bad choices for President. If there is violence on either side I belive that speaks volumes of how intolerant our society has become. If people think that either side is gonna fix the huge problems this country has for spending money it dosen't have you better cut back on the LSD your'e taking.

If for some reason, these votes are not counted or disqualified and McCain gets in as President, do you see riots in the streets? Violence?

Nah, they will probably just go home and beat their kids. ;)

You have it backwards. Conservatives beat their kids, spare the rod spoil the child and all that. Liberals try new age shit.

Then why is the OP thinking there is going to be violence in the streets unless he is infering that liberals get violent when they don't get their way?

This thread was discussed by the Moderators and determined that it did not need to be treated as racial flame-bait. It was an initial concern, but other factors also exist.

And the membership has avoided turning this into a racial flame:thumbsup:

I'm a little late to the thread, but I also think it could go both ways. IMHO though I think Republicans are more likely to break into some violent frenzy. Maybe not riots, but a lot of protests and calls of some kind of voter fraud. And again, I can see this the other way as well.

Unfortunately the media has swayed me a little bit towards believe Republicans would resort to violence if McCain loses due to the publicity of incidents at rallies. I know there are some Democrats out there that are crazy, but let's be honest. "Rednecks" are what most of us worry about. ;)

Note: That last part wasn't serious, FYI.
