I smoke regularly and would like to see it legalised, if only to ensure that it is taken out of the hands of dealers who also sell harder stuff and engage in other criminal activities. Moreover, it could be taxed and the money could be put to good use (if politicians ever decide to put our money to good use).

Alcohol and cigarettes? I would argue that they are more dangerous, particularly alcohol: when was the last time you saw a stoned person start a bar fight? And a drunk person?

To the vanishing point. The actual problem is that determined minority of highly suggestible morons who claim contact highs. You could put them in a group of people smoking clove cigarettes and these people would still claim a contact high, methinks.

I can pretty much end this. A girl I was dating a long while back didn't want to smoke it, but would let me blow hits into her mouth while kissing her. I was a head and a half at the time so she got tons of direct-from-the-source second-hand bong hits. She never got even the slightest buzz.

As for the tar, I really don't think it's an issue. A heavy smoker can put away an oz. or more of tobacco in a day. A heavy pot smoker will take at least 1-2 weeks to do that, and I'm talking 24/7 walking-zombie baked. Most will take months or longer. But, as with cigarettes, ban smoking it in public establishments, I'm fine with that. I'd rather eat/drink it anyway.

A good percentage of people don't get high their first try.
That said, my ex didn't get high the first time I let her take hits out of my roor.
Second time, she was in lala land.
A month later, she went to a radiohead concert with a group of friends who were smoking in a circle around her and she told me she got pretty high from the second hand smoke and the trip made the concert so much better.

also I frequently exhale into a bag and reinhale the smoke to get more high. I tried having my friend exhale into the bag, and I only inhale second hand smoke from the bag, and I got pretty damn high.
Your lungs only absorb so much THC, just like it only absorbs so much oxygen from one breath, and that's not a lot either.

edit: I agree it's pretty difficult to get high from second hand smoke though
 
Legal or not, I'll probably try it at some point in my life out of sheer curiosity. Don't see the need to regularly use it though.

You do not get a hit from the smoke exhaled by marijuana/hashish smokers (unless you are in a small tent with 20 people smoking bongs and going crazy) - this is a fallacy.
 
I smoke every day, have for over 5 years so i dont think i would smoke more, it would be the same amount. Gotta love living in vancouver even the cops dont really care much unless you are doing something else thats illeagal while smoking.
 
Come on, does anyone not smoke pot JUST because its illegal? I feel bad for such peons.

Also, giving shotties directly into someones mouth and typical second hand smoke are not the same thing. Its not like people are allowed to smoke indoors anywhere anymore anyway.

I'm Dutch, and I've never used it nor do I plan on ever trying. Nor do I use other drugs for that matter (including alcohol and tobacco).
 
I smoke socially usually when I hang out with my friends every couple weeks I like being really baked on occasion. If it was legal I'd be afraid I would turn into one of those people that gets ripped all the time and the fun would wear off. (plus being out of work makes it not a smart choice) I don't want to be getting high just to maintain. It needs to be fun.
