if it was proven that aliens do exist, does that invalidate people's belief in 'God'?

How would it? No. It might challenge some peoples' beliefs about humans being #1 on God's list, though.

No because religious people would just invent another way to explain that god created the aliens too. Its all behind their/his/her/its master plan. Then comes the people who try to convince the aliens that they should believe in god too. Thus the aliens laugh and laugh until they decide that its better to put us out of our misery. Carnage...total war...end of mankind...etc...

Nope, Christ's death was for the salvation of Humankind. The discovery of life outside of Earth would change little, from a religious perspective.

religion would adapt to incorporate it just as it has adapted in the face of science over the past thousands of years

unless these aliens created the universe, then no.

and suppose these aliens believed in God too, then what?

until it is proven that the universe and big bang are one continuous loop and that time is circular

You know, that opening scene of the pullback from Earth through the galaxies was one of the things that helped convince me that God is purely a figment of man's imagination. We're such an insignificant fleck in this whole universe, I can't imagine a supreme being giving two sh*ts what we do.

No, religion will once again adjust itself to the perils of modern reality and, instead of science and learning, will remain the basis of many societies.

..I think they would go to the bible and furiously page thru it trying to find some passage to support their appearance or existance..what if one of the Mars rovers found the remnant remains of a vehicle license plate on Mars??..oh my.
