If Intel: P3 or P4 & Which MB with On Board Lan & Ultra SCSI ?

While all the rage in performance vs price is AMD, I will be getting an Intel chip.

In reading about the P4, it doesn't sound like it is as good as the PIII.

I'm confused which to get but either way; is there a MB you can recomment for each that has both on board Lan and ultra scsi?

Thank you in advance,

Terrapin

Okay Get a p3 p4 is very expensive for little to no performance gain over a p3. Good p3 mobo's include the asus CUSL2(Intel 815,socket 370), asus p3v4x(via chipset, slot1) Keep in mind thse are just 2 examples many other boards from abit, MSI, and some others are just as good.

Sounds good. One more two part question if I may.

Should I consider a dual CPU board so that in 6 months I can drop another in at very little cost and fight off having to deal with upgrading for that much longer? and

Do the boards you recommend take regular sdram ?

Thanks,

Terrapin

Wait, if you can afford a P4, by all means go get one. Although there really is little to no performance gain right NOW, it will be awesome in the future and can overclock very well!

Are you planning on overclocking?

Also, sorry I don't know of any boards with SCSI on-board, but if you are not overclocking and want on-board LAN, then I would definitely recommend the Intel 815EEAL motherboard. Intel's retail boxed motherboards put many others to shame, they are superbly designed and very high quality, plus they even carry a 3 yr. warranty. The capacitors on these suckers are a sight to behold ...
