If i'm not OC'ing do I need to get OCZ? Ram questions.

hey,

Looking for a recommendation on RAM. I'll make it clear I am looking for peformance RAM to go well with a bada$$ CPU and Mobo so i'm not looking for the "value" stuff. It will be in a dual channel K8T800 chipset either an AV8 or A8V mobo with an FX-55 CPU. So i'm looking for a dual channel kit in DDR400, 3200. I don't understand the x-x-x-x latency timings (anyone?) so I can't tell if lower is better or all of them closer to each other is better or what. I have been told it won't matter for gaming.
I will not be overclocking but I want some really good performing RAM. I am going to stay away from Mushkin this time so i'm looking at either OCZ or Corsair. I like the Corsair with the light (XMS pro I believe?) OCZ has so many series I can't tell what is what. Is there Dual channel platinum edition with enhanced latency the best? Or is their peformance series better? Are the matched pairs worth it? Is the OCZ any better than the Corsair or Crucial if i'm not overclocking?

-Can someone let me know the equivalent of the good OCZ ram for me in the Corsair brand? I think it is the XMS series dual channel kit but again they have a ton of different lines and versions too.

So which one of these?

From the "GAMING PRO SERIES"

-TWINX1024-3200LLPRO XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-2-6 2x184 DIMM Black XMS ProSeries
-TWINX1024-3200C2PRO XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-3-6 * 2x184 DIMM Black XMS ProSeries
-TWINX1024-3200XLPRO XMS3200 1024MB 2-2-2-5 2x184 DIMM Black XMS ProSeries

From the "XMS MATCHED PAIR SERIES"

-TWINX1024-3200LLPRO XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-2-6 2x184 DIMM Black XMS ProSeries
-TWINX1024-3200C2PRO XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-3-6 * 2x184 DIMM Black XMS ProSeries

They all have the cool little LEDS and worthless spreader. I see some difference in timings but are those both matched pairs? I really don't understand why they have the Pro series and the match pair series and they are all twin pairs? I guess are they the same thing? The part number looks the same

-And one other thing. I am getting 1 gig (512mb x 2) if I had the money to actually get 2 gigs do I take a performance hit running two 1 gig sticks in dual channel? Will that even work?

Sorry for so much text and so many questsions but I need to make sure I get what is right and do so the first time!

Thanks again everyone I appreciate the input.

Yes you also just recommend the freezer 64 to me for my FX-55 LOL

I already have a Dell man an Optiplex... oh and I have an AT&T TCP = 100mhz, 4mb onboard video, 1 gig HD. Also have my old Celery Beast as my main comp. 300A baby

damn it that was you? had i paid attention i wouldnt have recommended a freezer64. since you called me sick for owning two ocz platinum kits its only dell and noname crap for you!

Thanks mickles. I take this that the 2-2-2-5 latency is better than average?

-And this is the equivalent to the OCZ ram right?

-Any reason to get the OCZ over this if im not overclocking? I might get the Corsair since they are supposedly close quality wise and I can get the LED's (Does that hurt performance or anything? Voltage?)

The prices will be close either way

lol chill man. It was amusing you have an OCZ plat kit in reserve. Must have some serious $$$ to keep cutting edge tech laying around like that
