If I'm in the right turn lane & there is a red light, I don't go until it turns green

even if there are no cars coming in cross traffic. I'm not going to risk getting a red light camera ticket and I don't care if people behind me are honking and angry. I could careless about their happiness if it costs me $500.

I feel ya. Nothing worse than getting a ticket from one of those cameras. But if you come to a complete stop, you're fine.

My trick? I stop twice - Once at the line, and once further forward where I can see the cars and make a proper driving decision. I've never gotten a ticket doing that.

You won't get a red light ticket for turning right at a red light. I'll turn right if it's clear, but if my vision is obstructed, I'm waiting for green. No reason to risk an accident to save 15 seconds. This is why we need mandatory prison sentences for any moron who pulls their giant truck into the crosswalk when stopped at a red light, effectively blocking the line of sight of people in the right turn lane.

WTF are you talking about? It's legal in most places I've ever been to turn right on red unless there is a sign saying it is prohibited.

depending on the state, its perfectly legal to turn right on a red light unless there is a sign specifically stating "no turn on red" or something similar.

Jesus, how obvious can you be?
Yes, we get it, you like us to think that you enjoy pissing people off.
I don't believe a word you say, but other people get off on telling you off, so keep it up!

Of course it legal. But most red light camera tickets are issued to people turning right on a red

I have never, ever heard of anyone getting one from doing that. I bet I turn right on red multiple times on every drive and have never received anything.

I call shens.

I did a quick Google search, and in every link that I went to, each person performed the right on red without stopping. This is illegal, which is why they got the ticket.

To note, I usually don't stop if I've already determined that it's definitely clear, but I am usually going around 5 MPH. An example of this is when I'm turning onto the road that I live on. Well, when the light first turns red, the road that I'm turning onto gets the green light. No traffic will ever enter the lane that I'm turning into while that side has the green, but technically I'm supposed to stop because my light is red. Obviously, based on what I mentioned above, I don't stop.

I've had the red light camera flash on me two separate times while making those right turns, but only because I didn't come to a complete stop, at least that's what I assume. I still didn't get a ticket.

people around here turn right even if there is a sign that says you can't. they even honk at you and get pissed if you don't do it despite the sign.
