If I work out and don't feel sore the next day...

If I work out and don't feel sore the next day does that mean I didn't work out long enough/hard enough? I keep hearing people say how sore they are after working out, and I've yet to be really sore after working out 1 hour/day.... (I feel a little strain in one muscle, but that's it)

I usually only feel sore if I haven't worked out for awhile (i.e. sports or workout injury, etc.) That's usually the only time I feel sore is when I'm starting my routine again and my muscles need to kick back into habit. Now feeling sore after EVERY workout doesn't sound healthy, they may be overworking the muscles big time. From my experience, it may feel a little tight when I'm done working out with my routine, but it definitely isn't a sore pain the next day.

Yeah, my muscle's feel tight after I do a long set with them, but by the time I get up the next morning there is _0_ soreness.

Well, almost. This one muscle that get's worked with the butterfly gets a little sore, but only on the one side of my chest.

yah you should feel sore, considering whenver you work out your actually destroying muscle which is what makes you feel sore the next day, but then your body remembers the work out you went through and builds more muscle than what was there before.

Are you doing the same thing everyday? Give a little descrip of what you are doing. Also, how is your diet? Fluid intake? How long have have you been doing this routine? All important indicators and can help you maxamize your effort

Yeah, it's basically the same group of exercises every day. The diet isn't that great yet, as I just started exercising on Sunday. I drink a lot of water, so that should be ok...

Ok, that's problem #1 The body needs a bit of time to heal the damage that you cause when you lift. Personally, I only hit each body part one time per week. I may go a bit heavier than most, but I think that at LEAST 3 days are required to make a proper recovery. You are also gonna run yourself right smack into being over-trained. Not a good thing, you won't get yourself anywhere.

Give a little more descrip of what you are doing and what your goals are, that can help define what you should be doing to get there.
