If I have 1 apple and you have 1 apple, how many apples do we have between us? The answer to this question and the OP's is clearly 2.

Umm it's plenty specific enough. He obviously means 1st and 2nd day. He says:
"
What would you say? 1 day or 2 days?
Same month.
"
The two acceptable answers are 0 and 2, because "between" can be inclusive or exclusive of the boundaries.
Actually in Oracle* the answer would be 1, so anything from 0 to 2 is acceptable.
* Possibly/probably other SQL databases as well
Granted, Oracle also thinks an empty string is null.
You don't need a poll, I'm right.
