Should I insulate it with some cellulose and then just seal off the compartment to eliminate convection? If the compartment will be sealed off, is insulation even necessary?

Very simple calorimeter, using 2 styrofoam cups. Used a real one versus one of these makeshift ones, and the styrofoam ones are surprisingly accurate.
