How long would this young white boy last if I just casually walked thru Harlem on a clear cool night saying..

"Hey bro's, how is it hanging." While I pulled out a wad of 100's and ate my ice cream cone. :D


btw.. anyone here ever make a wrong turn and ended up in a bad neighborhood? Did you remain calm or were you frightened? Did you ask for directions?

i got lost... was looking for my friends apt... while he fits in fine in the neighborhood i stuck out like a sore thumb being asian and all. i asked a random guy for directions and found my way. People gave me werid looks.. like are you in the right part of town kinda looks eh... LOL oh well

I used to do a fair amount of work in Compton and South Central and never got hassled, although it was daytime. I figure they just thought I was a plain clothes cop.

A friend and I were going to a Magic: The Gathering tourny in Atlanta back in '96. Having no clue how to get to the hotel it was being held at, we were driving aimlessly around downtown Atl. We must have past 9000 cops and the areas didn't look too bad, so we felt comfortable. Umm, well we hung a left on one street and it was like the difference between night and day. On each side of the street there were tons of those side by side duplex apartments. In front of EVERY apartment was a large gathering of blacks. Within like 20 seconds, boths sides of the street starting running towards our car, yelling god-knowns what. Now I'm not racist, and I'm not afraid of any particular race, but something about having 200 of the ugliest, nastiest black guys coming towards me scared the living sh!t out of me and my friend. I've never seen my friends '78 Oldsmobile go so fast...

From that day on, I either go to Mapquest or do the unmanly chore of asking a store clerk for directions...

I heard that they actually filmed that scene in a black neighborhood, and the original sign said "I hate everybody". They replaced "everybody" with CGI for the movie.

We took a wrong turn in town for a supposed shortcut. We ended up about to go into this narrow alley because of a road that had closed We see this guy doing the "I got a gun and i'm about to cap y0 ass" strut with his arms near his side and legs wide, and my dad (the driver) quickly put in reverse and got out of there.

I learned one thing a long time ago.

we once took a wrong turn into harlem actually... a lot of people just sitting on the steps of their houses in the middle of the day.... kind of weird. lots of cops there though.

Probably nothing would happen to you... Or you might get smacked and they grab your money and run or just try to sell you some drugs... That's about it.

I live in harlem btw.
