Is it a crime??
The actual crime was committed in Mexico, the murder. The .mex cant do anything, as I'm in the .gov land. Could the .gov prosecute??

Just wondering, because it sounds like it might be time for some live fire exercises....

Within the past week, agents assigned to the Douglas station in Arizona's southeastern corner ? one of the nation's busiest illegal-entry points ? have been fired at on at least six occasions, according to federal authorities, and although none of the officers was injured, several reported near-misses.....

Because who presses charges? USA? I didnt do anything wrong in the USA. I shot a gun, happens thousands of times a day.
The crime was committed on Mexican soil. How do they prosecute someone in America? They cant. Just curious how it would play out. Could you be help accountable and tried for a crime you committed in mexico?

They're shooting at border agents because there aren't enough water fountains in the middle of the desert. Can't let those border jumpers go thirsty now.

At the bare minimum, you could be charged with carless use of a firearm. I believe all states have laws that deal with that.

Depending on where you fired it, you may have also broken other laws of the county/city against discharging a firearm.

You can't necessarily just shoot "anywhere"

Does the US extradite to Mexico? I'm not sure whether Mexico will extradite to the US, I guess not based on all the ridiculous movies out there where people make a run for the border.

Well, I've seen a video of a guy that ran from the San Diego police, made it across the boarder. The police chopper kept an eye on him while the mexican cops caught him and drug/threw his ass back across.

Apparently not much fo a threat... they dont seem to be able to hit the broadside of a barn...
You'd think cartel bosses woul be able to afford real snipers stead of morons with guns =P

A few years back a contingent of marines were camoflauged (sp?) somewhere on the mexico border. They shot a young mexican boy tending his sheep & holding a small rifle, like a .22. Nothing really happened because of it.

Upon further review, the us and mexico have an extradition treaty. However, until recent years the mexican government almost never honored it when it came to mexican citizens. Recently they have begun to honor it, though still generally refuse if it is a capitol case.

Therefore you would be screwed either way.

In addition to the murder, you have also committed an arms trafficking violation when you fired the bullet across the line :D

The Feds charge people who are in Columbia and other places with dealing drugs in the US, and they've never stepped foot in the US. It's a no brainer.

Its a donation hes not getting paid by the mexican for the bullet, hes giving it to him/her. So if anything he should get a tax break--being a donation and all.

Its a donation hes not getting paid by the mexican for the bullet hes giving it to him/her. So if anything he should get a tax break--being a donation and all.

It's a no brainer but it happens everyday and rarely do you hear about it, we had some Iraqis caught not too long ago.

As far as prosecution, that's a joke
