If I set up two HDDs in my system in a non-array format, will I need two copies of Windows XP?

Are you asking if you can seutp two different copies of XP, one on each HD? In that case, yes, as you are running on the 'same system' for all legal purposes. Now, why do you want to do this?

I'm asking if I can put the same OS on each hard drive without running into problems.

MCrusty, did you have to call MS to tell them what you were doing?

Why would Microsoft care if I ran Linux on my computer as well

I'll rephrase.

I am going to use two hard drives in my computer.

Do I need two copies of XP for each HDD, or can I use one copy on both?

If the latter of the above statement is true, do I have to call MS to tell them I want to use the same copy of XP on two hard drives in the same system.?

If you are going to use ONE single boot XP no, you do not, if you plan to dual boot TWO copies on separate HDD's yes you do.

I think the answer you are looking for is no, you do not need them to install ONE copy of XP in a system with two hard drives.

I'll believe you. No offense Klixxer, really, but what you were saying is Chinese to me. MCrusty basically answered my question. Thanks.
