I've seen a few hot deals on them, but never got one
From what I understand they use a hard drive and convert the video and store it for later. I assume that it uses some standard codec like mpeg2 or something no? How good is the quality? Can you get it just as good as the original?
Anyway, is there a way to interface it with a PC and move the programs over? It'd be kinda handy. I gave recording with a tv tuner (ATi TV Wonder) and it was ass and too much trouble. It'd be nice if I could just copy a file over and rename it. There any sort of output on the back? How about removing the drive and putting it in the computer (sounds like a pain). How many episodes of Seinfeld could I fit on a Tivo?
