If i get dual channel 2x512 how would I upgrade in the future?

I know that dual channel is better than getting just one 1gb stick but how would I upgrade in the future? Get another pair? Will I still get the advantages of dual channel? Or is it better to get 2x1gb right off the bat?

2x512 if you want

upgrade for you would be 2x 1024

i would probably get a mobo that had 2 dual channels for 4x 512 because i like to overclock a bit.

Depends on how much RAM you think you'll need. If you multitask, encode, or plan to play BF2, get two 1GB sticks. It's been shown on Anandtech that 2GB of RAM for BF2 significantly improves performance.
