If I get an ASUS netbook now. . . will I be able to get upgrade pricing to 7?

Really wanting an ASUS EEE 1000HA. . . for carrying around. . .

I really want windows 7, too - so I'm torn. At the very least will there be xp home ---> windows 7 home premium upgrade path (in other words cheaper. . .) or will it not work because I'm getting xp oem from asus. . .

Someone enlighten me. . .

Does anyone also know if netbooks will start dropping with windows 7 in October? If so, I may wait . . .

There is a difference between "wanting" and 'needing'!

I have to explain this to children all the time, but I assume you're an adult - given your post count.

By October, you'll probably be unemployed, like 15% of the population - 30% by this time next year...

Do you really "want" to waste your money on a netbook?!?!?

The only possible explanation I can think of is, you're a retiree - looking for some excitement - while your sitting in the doctor's office. Other than that, forget it...

What kind of response is that? Not everyone lost their job, is in danger of losing their job, or ever will lose their job. Are you 15?

To the OP:

I expect Netbooks to begin shipping with Windows 7 right around launch or shortly after. That's usually how it is with laptops and Windows releases. I don't think netbooks should be any different.

Just curious, don't most Windows netbooks ship with XP? I'm not aware of any that ship with Vista. Will there be upgrade vouchers from XP -> 7?
