Sounds like a fun time. Not super cold but it all depends on the "type" of cold. The other day it was only -9 here but I swear it felt like -30. There was even frost on everything like there would be at -30. Be sure you are well equipped to start a fire, and have enough food preserves to eat and a way to warm it up. Warm shelter is going to be key though.

Pick a cold day and walk, and then ride an e bike 15 mph and then tell me that wind that you are generating against your body by going faster is not making you colder. I say e-bike because you won't be expending energy and getting warmer from working out. You will be much colder.

When I lived in Michigan, I didn't have a car because the bus system was so good, so I pretty much just walked everywhere. And let me tell you, the Lake Effect & wind chill are both VERY real! Cold cold cold cold COLD! It would get like -14F cold & feel WORSE when the wind blew! I have no desire to ever visit again LOL.

Also, I'm pretty sure the water from Flint is the reason I have 40k+ posts on ATOT

Also, it's not nearly as cold as I was expecting. -10C/+14F but it feels way different than Gothenburg where I am living. Dare I say it's almost balmy. Like, a few good layers and it's perfect.

Sorry but I prefer to have the wind-speed and temp reported as distinct and exact numbers not "rolled into one trendy stat" with the sole intent of making the weather report sound more "exciting".

Looks lovely. Snow makes all scenery that much more stunning.

14°F isn't bad at all with proper layers. Reasonably tight wool base layer to keep a small warm pocket right at your body and to wick away moisture. Center layer as thick as you need it for the conditions. Thin outer shell for wind/water block that you remove as needed to let out as much moisture as you can.

When I was a kid I actually went out and SKIED on a day where the temps in still-air were around -10f and the wind-chill was OVER 100f below zero. (ie: instant surface-skin frostbite)

Essentially after skiing down the mountain your knees wouldn't bend properly from being numb and more than one run was impossible without a warmup break .... the water pipes in the Killington peak summit lodge froze and burst despite being wrapped in heating coils.

OBVIOUSLY it feels colder when the wind blows. (derp) But it doesn't change the actual still-air temps one bit and a lot of the time those numbers are only mentioned in passing on the evening news.

I want to see the exact number on the thermometer and exact wind speed/direction along with barometric pressure etc not hear some smiling a$$-clowns opinion of what it "feels like" outside.
