If I ever got my hands on these SOBs....

My fiance is a graduate student at NC State. She teaches labs and such. She has an office with a few other fellow graduate students.

Today while in lab, some SOB stole her purse and cleaned out her bank account. They didn't steal her laptop. I guess this assclown isn't a techie. These fvcktards must have gone running to clean it out. I only wish I could take a crack at these jerkoffs. They gained $500 but would lose something worth a lot more than $500 if I got a hold of them.

I guess you can't even walk out of your office without deadbolting it. It is amazing that these people have the guts to do this during the day when people are going in and out of the office constantly.

Only upside is that she will have to get a new cellphone which she wanted anyways. Too bad it will cost her hours and hours of her time to get all this crap straightened out.

It is just too bad that EVEN if they catch the guy/girl, he/she will probably only get a slap on the wrist.

How did he clean out her account without her PIN?

I'm sorry to hear about the robbery. I had a friend who had her purse stolen when she was moving into a new apartment (on moving day).

99% of places NEVER check id. Hell I write, "DEMAND PICTURE ID" on the back of all my CCs and no one ever asks.

How did they clean out her bank account without her PIN? I felt pretty safe with my valueables while I was in college. The only problem people had was with their laptops getting stolen here and there.

Visa Check card and see the above post :)

I actually usually tip a waitress about 5-10% more if they ask for my ID. Too bad that happens like 1 in every 10 trips. No regular store ever asks for id.

She also felt pretty safe with her office because during the day, there is usually always someone in there.

Well that is even worse......I am sorry to hear that. If you need any help with the beat down let me know :)

Did they catch the people that stole it or did they recover the car yet?

I don't have a desert eagle but I do have a S&W .38 Special :)

shouldnt she be able to get that money back when they pull a register receipt that proves its not her signature? the store is held liable for not verifying the signatures match so they will be out the $$$ and its their own fault for not checking.

The same thing happened to my mom, but she cancelled all her stuff right away before they even got a chance to do anything.

Absolutely BUT this is a checking account. The bank has to do their entire investigation before they will give her money back. She was told it could take weeks to months. She is a grad student with little to no money. $500 is basically half her salary as a grad student. Not to mention, she has no money at this moment to get a new driver's license and such. I plan to send her money via western union tomorrow but I worry that she won't be able to do that until she has a picture id. She can't get a picture ID until she has money.

If you couldn't tell, I don't live in Raleigh.

500 isn't that much, she got lucky. Don't they have security cameras on campus?

Come on now, remember back to when you were a student.

$500 is a little less than half her monthly salary. Grad students don't get paid well. As for cameras, I seriously doubt there are cameras around labs and offices. Although that would be nice.

I make decent money but I am also just starting my career so $500 is no drop in the bucket for me.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound insensitive. I meant she's lucky that they didn't take it by force. Sometimes you got to look on the brighter side of things.

Yeah totally understand. I didn't take offense to it. And I am beyond grateful she is fine. Everything involved can be replaced. It is just amazing how much of a pain in the ass this is.

Pretty much the entire week has sucked for me and her.

Her birthday was on Sunday so I was up in Raleigh. Took her out to lunch. When I made it home(4 hour drive), I became deathly ill from food poisoning. I thought I was going to die Sunday night. Just started to recover yesterday.

Then this happened today. Hopefully things will turn up for the rest of the week. I think I will splurge a little more than I planned for V day to help make her week a little better.
