Hence why a lot of stations advertise cash prices and credit prices are .10 higher. Most station owners make .01-.015 per gallon if they're lucky.

Plus there's a reason Jersey is usually .30-.40 cheaper, the 10% tax NY imposes. This state sucks sometimes.

Yes, I saw where the president raised my gas prices yesterday. He's quite the multi-tasker.
Do you know how to read? More importantly, do you know how to comprehend? Obama has about as much affect on gas prices as my 4 dogs.
 
focus on saving money on your own instead of looking at rising gas prices. Bring lunch from home once or twice a week - there... saved a few bucks right there, which is what you paid extra in gas for a FEW weeks. I stopped going out for lunch except maybe once a week - that saves food & gas money.

OP, gas stations owners don't set the price of gasoline. You are screwing the wrong people with your scheme.

Being able to see the P&L statement of any QuikTrip, Its not going to matter. It would cost more for you to pay in 1 dollar bills than what you are describing.

Alternatively you could just burn the station down. That would really show em'.
 
I have a friend that owns a big name gas station franchise. His parent company has an agreement with the credit card companies where the fees are waived, so it costs him nothing to take credit over debit. It's the independants and mom-and-pop outfits that take it in the shorts, as usual.

Exactly. Those poor gas station owners make their money on snacks and crap they sell inside. They make nearly nothing on gas- it's set by the market.

If you want to blame someone, it would be Wall Street. They're speculating like crazy now because of the middle east and the Washington refinery fire, so gas is WAY more expensive than it should be. We're actually using less gas right now in the US than we did in 2001! Prices are so high that refineries are shoving their extra product onto the world market to make big $$$$.
 
Yeah i paid 4.25 today. Depending on the station, my station only lets me charge once a day. I have 2 cars and when I tried to do a 2nd fill up, the machine rejected the card. had to use a different cc

Well if one station is selling it for $4.05 and the one across the street is $4.09 then they are trying to make *something* from it. But putting it at the lowest rate they can will drive more business... and potentially into their store. How much are they marking up their Ho-Ho's though? 😀

high wages, low gas prices, low unemployment, Mountains, lots of public land that i can use, a well run, non-deficit spending government, low utility cost, no income tax, ...... i could go on.

cons: lack of trees.
