If i buy the KT7-RAID can i disable the onboard RAID and use External?

Hi,

Just wondering if Abit lets the user disable the onboard RAID and use a external card (either SCSI, or a different RAID controller).

I am just wondering cause the price difference in the RAID vs no-RAID is so low that i would like to buy the one with raid and if possible disable it and use my FastTrak 66 controller and if it ever goes bad, then take it out and re-enable the onboard one.

Can it be done?
 
yes you can completely disable the onboard hpt370 controller.
BTW is pretty good if the board actually works.
 
I had no problems what so ever with the KT7's onboard Raid (hpt370)
My suggestion is to buy the Raid version and sell your fast track card. You're right the price difference is is to small to justify plain KT7- I think the price on the KT7 will drop significantly to separate it from the Raid (or raid price could go up)


BTW - onboard Raid can be disable from BIos.
