If I buy a used dell monitor, is the warranty transferable?

Correct.

Remember it's a MONITOR from Dell E&A (Electronics and Accessories), think of it as a digital camera or MP3 player.

It's NOT a desktop or notebook system.

What? Why do they have a warranyt transfer form on their website?

I just sold one on here and he contacted Dell and had the warranty switched over.

Also, on their site (and documentation) they list that monitors have a 3 year warranty, however when he talked to Dell they said it only has a one year warranty.

Hmm, I see that it says transferring warranty on a system, but it seemed to have gone through, so WTF, I don't know.

So what the hell do the people who buy 12 20" monitors from dell do? Do they just sell them to people and the buyers get no warranties?

When I sold about 40 LCD's I sent a signed letter along with a copy of the packing list to each buyer. I only heard from 2 of those 40 people who said after some arguing and teeth pulling Dell finally transferred the warranty although they weren't supposed to.

Damn. Id like to get a 2001FP for cheap, but not if its not gonna have a warranty
