If Fury is overpriced, why is a $1000 Titan-X acceptable?

Keysplayr, wtf are you going on about, enough.

Who gives a S whether someone said or didn't say the Titan X pricing was appropriate. I guarantee you I could find as many idiots to say that as you require, people will go to extreme lengths to justify and rationalize their purchases as I've already explained to you.

Stop the fanboy rhethoric, we're not 12.

You've been here for 12 years but you don't know how forums work?

Click the little blue square with the > in his quoted post. That's a link that takes you to the conversation in context.

Holy smokes..

PJ, you have a lot to learn. Because Headfoot himself did not link, it shows he had something to hide, as you can see by the post i found to discredit.

Just sit and watch son. ():)

Because it's irrelevant. Re-read my posts in this thread, slowly, calmly, breathing, and understand that the entire thread is pointless as no one gives a #$%! about how the Titan X is priced in proportion to the Fury X.

The Fury X is judged by the 980 Ti, and the 980 Ti beat the Fury X in nearly every single test at every resolution that Anandtech tested at:

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1513?vs=1496

THUS, people are making the argument that it should be cheaper than the 980 Ti.

There you go, solved.

And again for everyone else: /thread

Titan X is an idiot purchase today. It's slower than a 980ti as they tend to overclock worse and don't have aftermarket cards available. There is no reason for the card whatsoever unless you are truly boss and run 3 4K screens in surround, there are a few people who run such setups. Otherwise the card is trash and I'm happy I managed to dump both of mine and only take a $400 loss. You have to remember though we have seen this gambit run before so the standard fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me applies. Anyone who bought one knew they were overpaying and were fine with it. I get your overall point, but the obvious answer is there is a small portion of forum participants that literally experiences glee at the opportunity to crap on one brand or the other and create troll threads or posts.

Unfortunately the Fury X is disappointing as it's slower and priced equally to the 980ti so it's an easy target. They need to drop the price of the card, but even that is not enough as the card had to be faster to be successful. A $600 halo card is still not a halo card because it's slower than the competition.

I doubt hardly anyone is buying the Titan X anymore. It's just a pointless junk pile with the way nvidia handled the 980ti; slower, 6GB extra of useless VRAM in all but the most insane monitor setups, worse DP performance than Kepler. Cards are judged as they stand against the rest of the pack when they release. Titan X released and was the best card and obviously overpriced. Fury X released and was the 3rd best card and obviously overpriced, just less so. That is the unbiased difference.

By all accounts, the Titan-X is overpriced garbage given it's marginally faster than a 980Ti, but costs a whopping $350 more. That's more than the cost of an entire GTX970.

Yet a Fury - overall slightly slower than a 980Ti, but costs the same - is a "massive disappointment", and has many threads detailing how wrong such a product is to exist.

Meanwhile, the Titan-X continues to quietly sit in the corner and sell for $1000. It must be selling well enough, because the price hasn't dropped.

So I have a question for the forum: why do you think there's such a blatant double standard?

It seems to me that AMD are in a situation a little similar to what was true for women in the workplace (thankfully largely changed in most industries now): you have to be twice as good to get equal respect.

It's not quite that bad for AMD, but it's pretty clearly the case that as far as many people are concerned, being as good as your competitor, means you're worse than them. Only if you're better, are you equal.

Yep, what we've been saying in various ways in multiple threads. Two former Titan X owners agree.

That was a snip of a conversation taken from who knows where without the surrounding conversation for complete context. Why do I need to explain this to you? Headfoot lied. It's there in digital black and white.
I see what you meant about clicking the blue icon, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted Headfoot to put up the effort.

You learn something new everyday.....I don't think I've ever even noticed that little icon.

I'm old though, I'll probably forget about it by the time I get off mobile and back to my grandpa desktop.... On the plus side, I'll get to discover this information anew all over again when someone else points it out!

The OP has a Titan and yet bashes the Titan-X price /thread.

Who better to critique a product than someone that owns it?

His word should mean more than people that bash the product yet don't own it.

I must say this thread was an excellent bait and hook for NV fan boys you are quite the excellent fisherman OP
