Alternative to working as a EE or PhD engineer would be navy for me. If I have a degree in engineering I can probably make officer. It would be a fun job, but it would kinda put the whole rest of my life on hold.

Well, I'm at the other end of my career. I've been a die-maker for 26 yrs.

I've got 6 years to go before I can retire at the age of 53.

I'll be pulling in about $30K/yr., but I'm used to making quite a bit more than that.

So, I'll probably be looking for something to do. What? I don't know. Maybe, I can get some sort of die-making job involving the aircraft industry in and around Vegas.

The wife has been given a ton of offers through her work to move to Vegas or SoCal.

I was thinking about Heating and Cooling as a backup. I could start taking the classes now and my employer would pickup the cost. I already got a bachelors in Industrial Management through our Tuition Assistance Plan.

If I don't get into the business school... well, finish a double degree in Classical Studies (just for kicks), and find a job in finance where I can work 20 hours a week for next Winter and Spring and then will let me move into a full time position for a few years; after that, go back to school to get my MBA in Accounting, and go work as an accountant for a few more years; then law school, then maybe work in the Air Force if they'll still accept me.

If I do, then BBA next year, MPAcc year after, maybe the Air Force for two years as an accountant, then law school on the AF's dime, then work for a term of service, be done by 30 and hopefully have some damn good experience and recs.

marry up 😛 j/k...sort of...

I dunno, probably go back to school and get a teaching degree. Or maybe try to be a pilot. Or become a ninja.
