USPS shipped via priority mail using the online USPS web page INCLUDES both tracking and some insurance now FREE.

Cheap out on shipping, eventually pay for it. I've seen someone take a package to USPS that was wet with a tire imprint over it, and without insurance USPS won't do a thing, with insurance it still isn't just handing over money, they like proof of damage and value, which won't include shipping cost iirc.

I hope they don't do Paypal chargeback. You'll most likely lose even if they received it and claimed they didn't. Ebay sucks.

Yeah, USPS is total shit! Order something on ebay worth $36 and never got it. Got a refund. Three items I orderd all shipped with the USPS were cracked. I eBay a lot! Almost got ripped off selling a TrackIR. Made a thread about that several months back. If Amazon sold old and collectable shit I would use them instead.

USPS tracking is broken. I've gotten delivery notification days before receiving an item and days after receiving an item.

USPS delivery confirmation is unreliable. I paid for a tracking but the printed bar code was so faded that their scanners don't even read it. So there was no update via web tracking.

i shipped out a ps4 with fedex across the country for $20 with it insured for $400. how much did you pay for usps to do it? i went with fedex becaus all of the estimates online for fedex, ups, and usps were more expensive than fedex, and fedex has always had much better service in my experience.

There is no delivery confirmation anymore. It is all included with free $50 insurance.

Yes there is. I just got it the other day. Sent a package priority mail with delivery confirmation. A few days later got the signed delivery confirmation slip in the mail. Actually they made me get it, forget why. I think because I bought extra insurance and they want to make sure it's signed for then.

Signature is not del confirmation, its called something else and isn't free.

I've had no recent issues with anything shipped, except delays a month ago from Hong Kong, and I am currently watching half a dozen incoming USPS tracking packages. Just found out I have a package in my mailbox waiting for me today.

USPS will.

I sold two PS4s on ebay this week. Shipped via USPS, stupidly without insurance, and NEITHER reached their destination.

Shipped from NJ. One bound for California, tracking says delivered in Ozone Park, NY...

The other was staying in state to NJ, no update since getting to the sorting facility two days ago...

I've sent so many packages without a problem like this, I have to imagine someone at the USPS has sticky fingers and was looking for PS4s?

USPS has been completely useless in helping me out.
Anyone have any ideas?

I had this EXACT same issue when I purchased cologne from a third party based in NJ a couple of weeks ago. It travelled between Teterboro and some other town in north Jersey for a good week before finally moving to NYC over the river. I hate USPS.

Funny thing, with USPS on domestic INSURED packages over I believe $200, delivery confirmation is automatically upgraded to signature confirmation.

You sure about that? I've shipped multiple packages recently with insurance ~$200+ and haven't had that happen yet.

Damn OP, that sucks :(

I was stupid. I've shipped tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff without ever having to count on insurance, whether I've paid for it or not. The packages were obviously heavy and I was being cheap about it.
I know that feel bro. I've never gotten insurance either and been ripped off this number of times:

That said, I've never shipped anything I was not quite willing to lose.

Anyway for small items USPS is cheaper, but for large I go UPS. it seems cheaper and always has tracking. For international to Canada I go USPS because UPS seems to ah heck me on brokerage (or the recipient).

That's the thing, it's not true--cheap out on UPS with their economy and you still get tracking. Who's going to priority mail a PS4? Far too expensive.

ah, ok, got it.

insurance is pretty much for you, not the buyer. I always buy insurance for anything I can't afford to lose money on.

I never had a problem with ebay until that last auction. reserve price is a fucking scam, imo. I put the item up with a $2000 reserve. I could have sworn it said that I would not be charged at all until the auction sells and I think there was a special promotion going on as well for no fees or something. The auction ended no bids and I relisted with $1000 reserve. later on I get a message about a $20 fee for the reserve auction.

I call up ebay to complain and the lady said that reserve price was the reason. they get 10% no matter what. i basically told her the auction said no fees unless it sells, etc. I bitched a bunch and she eventually waived it, but would not waive the $10 fee for the relisting. so they get a cut of the reserve price no matter what, they get whatever other fees for creating the auction, they get the selling fee, and then they get a cut from paypal too.

it's fucking ridiculous. if i ever use ebay again i am not using reserve. wish there was another site like ebay that could take over and put those fuckers out of business.

Is $20 10% of $2000 where you live?

Almost all of the Priority Mail packages sent via USPS are actually carried by Fedex.

You know they x-ray/inspect packages these days right? :(

I'm not sure if you can ship a gun in the mail, but I bought a movie replica PPK and it was shipped in a priority envelope. LMAO If they X-rayed it I'm sure they would think it was real.
