If cells phones were proven to be as bad cigarettes

I was thinking about if people would be able to give things up after being used to it. For me a cell phone isn't a big deal. I use a pre-paid plan and use about 100 min/yr.

Due to the nature of cellular technology, if anyone kept using them, you'd be pretty much just as screwed as they were. IE: second hand cell radiation would be much more powerful than second hand smoke. So no, I wouldn't stop, because it would be pointless.

Cell phone voice usage, text/data usage, or just being in proximity to the cell phone?

Regardless, I have a Motorola XTS 3000 on my hip and plugged into my ear. I think my cell phone is the least of my worries. 😱

I'd keep using mine, but like you, I don't use it much. I use a phone to communicate needed information only. I'm not chatty, and I don't call for fun. I use 100 minutes per month tops.

Impossible, but does this include texting/browsing web as well?

Let's assume it does. Then I'd give it up completely and just use the even more deadly 24" screen of death with the giant cans on my head to do my VOIP and Google Voice text messaging. 😀

So, eff u!!!

depends on the nature. is it specific to having it against your head? mere proximity? etc.

I could easily stop using my cellphone and keeping it turned off but around for emergencies (ie: sitting off on the charger at home 99% of the time, but pulled out for road trips)

no, I can deal with brain cancer. not knowing the score of the yankees game is beyond torture.

if you're under 40 and smoking you failed

That's not much? That's 6000 minutes which is 500 minutes a month - I'd say that's quite a bit!

they prob.are when you consider the effect(drunk) on driving and the bio effect of short wave length RF radiation.

Stop? No.
Just figure out a way to extend the antenna and shield the body of the phone.
If I can work on a million watt VLF transmitter in Iceland I should be able to figure out something for my cell phone.

if sex caused cancer...would you never have it??

OP comes up with the most retarded hypothetical question.

This. If texting was safe I'd probably text more than I already do. Hopefully they don't take away the web browsing, I don't know if I could live without that.
