Like I said via PM AT'ers are cheap, you might get $20/mo in donations but that's about it.

DeviousTrap has offered to host pics.bbzzdd.com for free in the past, not sure if his offer still stands.

Good luck 🙂

I'll help out a bit 🙂

I'm not so sure it's the bandwidth that's the problem. Modeps has to confirm. I think it's the loadtime.

And I really have to apologize for not addressing this sooner. DannyBoy was active getting 3.0 going but I don't know where he is now. I know a lot of people are not happy with the new interface and all. There was supposed to be an alternative old school skin but it never happened. If I have to sit down and code it I will.

would you be willing to pay something like $1+paypal fees per month to be able to host images there and help support the server costs?

just wondering

I thought Paypal's EULA says that you're not allowed to pass fees on to customers?

i think thats just on ebay, maybe?

Nope, it's everywhere. Can't do it here on AT.

Yes, but you can build it into the price and then offer discounts for other payment methods. So long as it's not price+something, Paypal is happy.

I havent been around much on AT, so I didnt notice this was a big problem till just now.

It's not the bandwidth that's a problem, the server is connected to one of the fattest pipes for the cheapest price I could find. I think it's the fact that It's running on a Celery and one of MySQL's inherant problems with high traffic sites is that it starts it's own process for each connection... Dwell, if you feel that my server isnt cutting it anymore, I hold no ill will against you if you decide to go elsewhere.

"B.width Daily Avg: 2.11GB "

The service I have gives me 400GB a month, well over what bbzzdd supposedly uses. I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me pushing the CPU in it so hard, but in theory I could host it (or a smaller version) and not go over what I pay a month in fees. I host my own stuff there, and in the past have hosted videos as a mirror, and never had any issues.

Is it possible to downgrade to the former v2.95?

That maybe the best option to help performance...

Oh, and the comment about $20 a month in donations? haha! that was a good one 😉
