I really doubt we will take HP/Compaq.... If we did Join all of our efforts to take #1 spot.... We would have 14938470 WU combined....

That would be really cool. But to go out with a #1 Combo deal at the end of Seti 1!!!

Oh well, I just had a thought.... Most likely never happen.

 
And make irrelevant all of the competition and sportsmanship that has been between the two teams for all these years? :/

It seems like a soft option to me. TA to the end, whether it be 6th, 7th or 1st 🙂
 
Or just ask a smaller team (say whoever #10 is) to be sucked into the TeAm. Would be a lot easier and both teams have incentive to do it, not to mention it's a pretty cheap way of leaping ahead 😉.
 
If it's a cheap way, then I personally don't want to do it!

If, however, another team decides for themselves that they wish to join us, then I shall not say no, I shall welcome them with open arms!

We have been battling with BBR for years now, it would not be right, and it would not be the TeAm I know and love, if a large merger took place.

Why not fight the race till 24h before the deadline of SETI. We set this line as a virtual end of SETI. Then we know who has won.

After that (when TeAm cheers and celebtrates the victory) we join the teams and take #1 !!

Hell yeah, that would be a MEAN TEAM!

I would say no, 'cos if we do that, it won't be really fair...

BTW. What are some BBR members doing inside our TeAm in SETI ?!

I would concur with Garry on this. It feels unsportsmanlike to recruit other teams, to me, especially in light of the friendly competition we've had with BBR to date.

We'll leave the unsportsmanlike conduct to the Nederlanders. 😉 😛

I favor the merging at the end.
This competition IS irrelavent to the bigger picture.
The thing is, we get bored so easily, we create competiton.
I think it would be the more evolved decision to merge at the end-
Homage to the rivalry for pushing us harder, then putting it aside

Besides, it would blow people's minds.

I dont know about the merge, but a week long race would be cool.
 
This idea has been tossed around before, and as nice as it would be to put one to Ars, we all love our respectful teams and I think too the rivalry that we have.
You all seemed to weather our little storm pretty well, and in all honesty. I think we both get HP just by trying to outcrunch each other.

What could be better?😀

Now children... Sheesh... I'm sure when HP and Compaq joined up they were not thinking of un sportsmanship... But, yeah... I guess my point is if the race were to end tomorrow for seti 1.... They usually recognize only the top 3 or 5... never 6. But oh well. Would have been nice to be #1... Even if both of our team names were on the title. I wonder how many other teams are thinking of joining up right now???

There is only 30000 WU between the two teams it's not like us joining HP or something... That would be disgusting... As I am sure they are doing with HP dollars... We are still little people spending lots of cash to even be in the spot we are in now. since it was nearing the end of the line I figured.... Even if I did some how get you all to agree with me, what makes you think BBR would want to do it??? Huh???

Nope intel makes great cpu's
Has nothin to do with BBR I would not be on a team that joined up with BBR and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. If I was so worried about being #1 I would just join ARS.
