If ATM is out of envelopes...

ive never had a problem, however one time after i finished my trasaction and put the envelope into the machine, i looked down and saw my paycheck in my hand, oops 🙂 . Bank was closed so there was nothing i could do, next day i went to use the atm to get some cash and it took my card 🙂

Often banks will charge you for using a teller.

Personally, it's faster and easier to dump the money in the machine than to wait in line at the bank. I've never had a problem either and I've deposited hundreds of dollars in cash into the ghetto branch of my bank in downtown LA.

i've deposited money both cash and checks, in my ATM for about 7 years no with no problems whatsoever. i even punched in the wrong amount last week (less 40 bucks) on a check and they sent me a letter saying they corrected it for me.

i have never seen a teller at my current bank.

if you fellas want to waste your time standing in teller lines, fine by me. i drive thru bank.

i prefer using the ATM's I hate waiting in line then when you do get to the line, the teller goes to lunch or something, so you gotta wait more for the one teller that's serving all the lines and the drive through, to get to you.

ATM's are everywhere for my bank so i make most deposits there unless i need a money order.

I'm pretty sure that they have at least 2 people looking at the deposit envelopes to make sure that you're not short changed with cash deposits through the ATM.

I've used ATM's all my life - hate waiting in line for something that can easily be done outside! 🙂

I have deposited both cash and checks, and never had a problem. Occassionally I add wrong, either in my favor or thiers, and they have always corrected the total. Usually it is only 10 cents, as I forget a carry or something, but I they have always corrected it, regardless of whose favor it is in.

Chock up another one for a person that regularly ATM banks (with both cash and checks) without problem. The only time I visit a teller is if I want to deposit a check while cashing a portion of it beforehand. Besides, I only get two teller visits per month before I'm charged a fee. Also, the ATM is right in the center of campus; the bank is in the middle of downtown, and I don't really like heading there during banking hours.

Putting money in an envelope and then sticking it in an ATM always seemed like a bad idea to me. Is it that hard to visit a bank during normal business hours?

agreed, i would always hand in money/checks physically to a teller then trust a machine

I've done all my deposits through an ATM for about 4 or 5 years now and have NEVER had a problem with the deposits.
