Question: How fast does the Nook Color boot? A comparison to the eink Nook would be nice as that's what I have now (and it takes forever).

I am having an issue with wifi. Both with the latest CM7 nightly build and phiremod rom I can't stay connected to my wifi connection for more than a minute or two. I have to reconnect once it stops connecting.

Try these settings on your router:
1. Enable Anonymous Internet Requests
2. Disable AP Isolation
3. Change network mode to B-G mixed (in other words, disable N mode)

Every single weekend I have to stop myself from running to Best Buy and getting one of these. Reading about all this stuff doesn't help either.

i feel the exact same way. might pick one up if i can get for 200 off craigslist.

I managed to stop myself this weekend, but mainly because I have an e-ink nook just lying around not being used. If they have another 200 sale I might get it, or if Netflix ever works on it. I'm the worst person to have money... I just buy stuff like crazy and then end up not using most of it :|

I feel your pain 😛.

But since I recall you were going to buy the Ender books as a reason to get the Nook (as you mentioned in the thread in Off Topic), you could just buy the actual books... I got them in packs for a good price off Amazon.

I do the same. I have a really hard time selling anything also.

Just got a 3ds today also......

But I am looking forward to ocarina of time!

I could, but I originally bought my Nook to avoid having to deal with more books. Not that I have a ton but the amount I DO have is already a PITA to deal with when moving. And I'm far from settling down so I'm still on the move a lot. I'd be more likely to go to the library so I could read the physical book but then get rid of it when I'm done.

Got mine. 200 from cl. A few weeks old, came with leather case, screen protecter. Saw the receipt, she paid 300+ . Got a good deal. Runnng froyo but cant dl anything off android market.

I'm going to sell my Nook Color. I bought one for my gf and one for myself and I think it's best as a reader. I've tried several roms but the feel is that they don't belong on the Nook. The experience isn't polished enough. During testing, I also added my gmail account to my gf's nook and there isn't any way to remove it!
Going to a Xoom. At least that's a google device and I know I'll keep getting updates to make the experience better as google is great at doing that.

How much you want for it? And yes I'm serious

I can see that now that Honeycomb isn't coming many might want to bail on the Nook for a Xoom.

With that said you should at least try out the ROM with tablet specific improvements to see if maybe it is "good enough" for you:

Going to hang on to the NookC for a while until all the HC tablets are out, bugs ironed out, apps added, and prices drop. Then may sell it or maybe keep it around for bathroom reader duty 🙂
For now I am pretty happy with CM7.
RC4 actually plays video smoothly, but froze up a few times when I rotated device during playback. It still has some work to do, but it's getting damn close.

I am liking mine so much that I plan to hold on till Ice Cream tablets. As it is the only thing that really frustrates me about it is the lack of being able to play all my files without re-encoding, but apparently Tegra 2 can't either. If the little Nook can hold me till Kal El I will be happy....

I surf the web, deal with my Gmail, keep tabs on my website, Twitter, Facebook, I've got Nookie Froyo installed on my Nook and I love it. I have a device that's close enough to a true Tablet that meets my needs on a beer budget. I can happily wait till the tablet market matures before upgrading.

Ice Cream tablets? What will the feature set have? Haven't heard of it.... Right now I'm running CM7/31 and love it. Everything works great. Got Opera 11 on their and its super quick. I've been having these crazy thoughts of just dumping my Windows 7 comp in favor of a larger tablet with dock. The only thing I see as an issue is CD/DVD support. I don't see that as being too much trouble for developers to get support for it going though. Aside from watching a DVD, there isn't really anything I do that I can't do on the Nook.

I'm pretty much sold on the idea of tablets replacing my computers. Any way to get Android on a PC? 😉

I find it just to be a tad to slow at stock clocks for web browsing vs my PC. Maybe 1.5ghz Cortex A9 on honeycomb would be twice as fast, then I might do more browsing. I can't wait until I can get a final CM7 on it.

Well I got my Transcend 8GB class 6 card in today and it runs much smoother than the Wintec I got originally (it would stutter and hang despite the same specs).

Have the tablet-modded version of CM7 from XDA running right now.
