One other thing that would/could be critical is making sure we have at least a core batch of email addresses. If there are folks that already have access, cool. It's probably a good idea to start scraping those while that's still true. If not, we should probably try to harvest those as best we can.

What!

Never gonna fall in love again
I don't want to start with someone new
'Cause I couldn't bear to see it end
Just like me and you

No, I never want to feel the pain
Of remembering how it used to be
Never gonna fall in love again
Just like you and me

Huh, I've never found anything I needed to do on Reddit that I couldn't do on the mobile site.

It's slow, especially with uploading of pics and writing out posts and getting them to post correctly.

Definitely not gonna work for us since we're quite link/ meme heavy.

I look at the Seiko mods reddit quite a bit but posting is such a chore over there if you want pics included.

I wasn't suggesting we move to Reddit, because that's obviously a very poor move, I was talking about that person downloading the Reddit app to read dispensary reviews. I rarely, if ever, create threads there on the mobile site (I rarely create threads there in general).

Has anyone actually talked to Future since this whole deal? I think the main thing we need to determine is if the community taking over the forum in the event they do end up shutting it down is actually an option. If it is, then that's the best route to go. If it's not, or if they are completely silent about it and don't want to talk about it, then time to decide on a new forum. Either move to an existing one or create a new one. We could list all the possible options then vote on it in a separate thread.

Since there won't be any new review articles coming out from the main site (archived) and forums will be kept (as mentioned in the announcement), why not make the forums "subscription" based.
Limit the amount of post per member/day based their "contribution" level.

Levels - Newbie, Diamond, Lifer and Elite. 😉

You're closest. Ring em up.

Eh, hello. I wouldst be most interested in taking over thy forums if thou ardst interested in selling said to me for sentimental reasons. I wouldst be will to offer one British pound, an old down coat withst moth holes and a two legged swine named Crisp P. Bacon, Esq. Said animal will be delivered ready to eat.

That must be a damn fine pig if you're only eating 1 leg at a time.

I'm mostly on Reddit these days. It has the vibe of AT forums back in the heyday. Just have to stay away from the back alleys over there.

I've never come across anything that has vibe of this place from back in the heyday. As far as Reddit is concerned - the small subs in the back alleys are about the only places that are interesting. The front page is a garbage mess of karma farmers and bots. I'd rather doom scroll tik tok.

and endless shitposting. The occasional shitpost is amusing, but you can have whole streams of shitposts riffing off each other, and it's just tedious.

I'm sure specific subreddits do. Like I said though, it's difficult for more than 2 people to have the same conversation.
Maybe, I've been in smaller, niche subreddits for a long span and still not more than a handful of people I know by username. I did get recognized outside a concert venue by someone because they saw me on there, that was a trip.

Nah....if you're saying that, you're not in the back alley. Otherwise you'd be seeing r/dickinmynose or r/breastfeedinganimals or r/WillItFit or other horror shows.

How do you figure? It has a lot of activity, if that's what you mean, but it doesn't have much sense of community.
There's more people, sure, but you end up connecting with others in subs, and then follow each other. I have a group of a good 200 people I constantly interact with over there.

Do I? No, I don't think I do. It sounds like you do, though! I've never followed anyone, no idea if I have any followers myself.
