If an asteroid was going to hit Earth, and scientists confirmed it would kill us all

I would not believe it because it goes contrary to what the Bible says. I never worry about the end-of-the-world discussions.

Well what would happen is 95% of the scientists would stand together and be able to clearly demonstrate that the asteroid was going to collide with earth. But a handful of them would exchange in email things like "no one is going to believe us about the asteroid, I think we should hide the complex statistics demonstrating the chances of a near miss because frankly they are irrelevant and laymen would misinterpret the data."

Then some group would come out and ignore the overwhelming consensus of reality and focus instead on the handful of "smoking gun" emails that "prove the data is false". And then we all die screaming instead of coming together to send Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck into space to save us.

Thanks a lot ELE deniers. You suck.
