If AMD goes to a PR, how will we overclock?

if they change over to a PR, one of the things i have seen is 1800+ that's not a definate number. if they disable the mhz from posting how exactly will we be able to tell what we are truely running and how much we are gaining. will there be some option in the BIOS that lets you change it back to an mhz post rather than the model? dumb question probably but i never saw anyone address it.

With the old P-Rated procs, you at least had to set the multipliers yourself so you HAD to know what the real clock was (Meaning the rating was only for pre-built systems really). I guess this really turns the tables...

Why do you need the Post screen to tell you what it's running at?
You should be able to calculate it perfectly fine by yourself just by knowing what settings you've used in the BIOS/Jumpers/Dipswitches.

Besides, the Post screen will tell what the new PR "Model rating" is that you've overclocked to I'd imagine.

H-oda and other utilities will still work. The BIOS would just show the model number of the cpu, so it isn't going to calculate the overclocked PR rating.

But I have no idea how you would figure the new PR rating. 😉
