My daughter was/is a beautiful baby from the start, but my son (3 months old now) wasn't too cute at all when he was born. He's pretty cute now, but at first he was not.

babies aren't pretty. they look like winston churchill. we are programmed to think they're cute and want to hold them, protect them, etc. but they are not an attractive stage of human life from an aesthetic point of view.

The truth is, they morph. Some gorgeous babies can be some pretty strange looking little kids, and some nice looking little kids turn out to be some pretty fugly adults.

It is rare that you seem someone look good from birth onward!

 

Maybe not all babies are pretty in the first place. I can't understand why people say otherwise. :/

It does seem to me that (in most cases) pretty babies become ugly when they grow up; whereas ugly babies become pretty.

It is a human trait to think that babies are cute, adorable, etc. People even think that animal enfants are adorable. A lion would think lunch if it saw Bambi, humans would think Bambi is precious.
