No, you ARE cheap. The only reason to tip that low was if the driver/pizza place did a lousy job, or if you live in a trailor.
screw that. not way pimple face deserves more than 10-20% for driving his fat ass 5 miles down the road in his geo metro.

Note taken: you'll get your pizza last the next time you order.

and if I knew where you worked, I'd send that threat onto your company's corporate offices. What do I care though, it's better than handing out money to people with prick attitudes like yours. either do your job and accept that tipping is something you should be grateful for (and not expect) or work in another industry. WHY SHOULD I TIP A LOSER LIKE YOU MORE THAN A GOOD WAITRESS?

A waitress woudl do the same thing. If you're a repeat customer, yet don't tip well, do you think she's going to cater to your every needs, or to the customer in the table next to you who DOES tip well? People work in these industries because of the money that can be earned through tips, so they are expecting that tip.

You could call in corporate. They would laugh at you for being a cheap bastard.

You proved my point. You lazy bastards dont have to do much except get in your car, watch your mirrors, and look at a map. No way do pizza drivers deserve more than 20% for a normal order, and that's high end. $2 on a $20 order is fairly customary in this area and appropriate in my view. If the driver does something out of the way for me-picks up cigarettes, lottery tickets...then he'll get more.

It doesn't matter why you work in the industry, you're attitude is crap when you start being vindictive and angry towards people for not tipping according to your inflated self-worth. get a real job and maybe you wont have to worry about how to get back at the guy at 123 main street for only tipping you 15%.

Note taken: When I'm on a delivery with 6 orders, you'll get your pizza last. Hey, I might as well bust my ass to get to a customers house that I know will tip well, even if your pizza is older. it's not like I'll be loosing anything.

There's nothing worse than a cheap bastard, but there's nothing more entertaining than an angry cheap bastard.
Maybe even with 'special sauce' on it!!

I wish the job was as easy as you think it is, but sadly, it's not. Sure, everyone would be a cheap ass if they thought that was all there was to it, but I'm glad a good majority of my customers aren't.

I got a complaint one time about my service, and the manager was pissed that he had to listen to their sorry asses. So I apologized. . .

to the manager, not the customers.

Complaining about an employee might get you a gift certificate for some free food if it will get you off the phone, but beyond that, nothing happens, except that the employee and the manager might have a little laugh over the situation if it's as baseless as that.

I can guaran-damn-tee that nobody would get fired! That's just way over the top. LOL. Good delivery drivers are not easy to replace on short notice. It would take numerous and frequent complaints from various customers to put a fast, reliable driver's job at risk.

Guess it depends on your employer. I had an extremely bad experience once at Damon's. Complained afterwards, both to corporate and local, and not only recieved free meal tickets but the employee was fired the next time I went back. Whether she had additional complaints about her, I don't know. She surely didn't deserve to be a waitress. And some of you pizza delivery drivers dont deserve to be tipped either. But these places have to employ someone I guess. Doesn't mean I have to tip you or expect terrible service when I don't tip you 50%.

If I owned a pizza store I'd fire his pompous ass. I wouldn't want my employees projecting that attitude.

For some reason if a waiter or waitress doesn't give me good servive I have no problem not tipping.

But I could never stiff a delivery person that drove a pizze to my FRONT DOOR.

I think tipping needs to be abolished or today?s generation needs an education on tipping. There is no middle ground on this problem.

Damnett - I took the liberty to write a long and informative post, but I accidentally bumped the back button on my mouse!!! :|

Anyway: here's a good link: http://tipthepizzaguy.com/gothrough/ If you read some of the pages on this site, you'll realize that delivering is MUCH more than getting in a car, and driving to your house.

One of the main points of my deleted post was the fact that good pizza drivers have their delivery area memorized, they know which streets make the best shortcuts, they know to avoid main roads at intersects, etc. A good driver does not need to use a map - maps only slow you down.

maps only slow you down.

You guys are fvckin' ridiculous! Here's .75 cents (throws quarters at pizza face), now go clean your Geo Metro.

"maps only slow you down"-------->'Only the strong survive and I am the strong'------>'My job is really hard and requires a great deal of skill'------->'I am a great pizza delivery person and I should be entitled to AT LEAST 25% tips'

Any of you that aren't giving the pizza man $5 for coming to your house are parasites, taking advantage of the pizza man. I'm glad they fvck up your food without you knowing, because the other alternative would be, they wouldn't bring you pizzas anymore, which would result in you getting your pizza from somewhere else, and thus harming another innocent driver. So enjoy your 'special' pizza.

If people would not tip for pizza, then pizza places would have to charge more, in order to pay the driver more, so he would not need a tip anymore.

BUT, paying a higher wage leads to higher taxes, less motivation for the driver( if he gets no tip why bother , he can't be rewarded/punished by the client) and competition from the other pizza places that will charge $7 less( leaving the client to pay an average of $5 in tips).

The good side would be that all cheapo bastards would love not to feel like "geez he seemed really upset because I tipped him 18c, guess he could do something nasty to my pizza next time I order".
Could be a good market niche.

Hello Mr White.

I surely hope you guys are kidding with the "go clean your metro" crap, that's the kind of things that highschool kids would say. Then again, you probably are a high school kid.

Grow the fvck up.

I'm with the delivery guys (even though I've never done that), if you don't feel a minimum of $3-4 per delivery is appropriate, go pick it up yourself.

i don't tip more than $2-$2.50 if i order a pizza. If you think that's cheap you got issues.

I usually give around $2. I dont like change so the driver usaully gets whatever there is of that too. I am in college and most pizza places are only a few blocks from me and they deliver a lot of pizzas in a very small area during peak hours. When I was in the dorms they would sometimes come in delivering 4 pizzas at a time.

I usually tip 10-15%, rounded up to the nearest dollar. If that makes me cheap, too bad, get a better job. I don't equate getting a pizza delivered to eating a meal at a restaurant. I usually tip 15-20% at restaurants.
